A good onboarding process reduces the costs of employee turnover and increases general productivity. Our onboarding training plan is usually divided down into two main parts: Training for all new hires (general information about the company, history, mission, vision, values, etc.) and Specific training for a particular role. The last one is focused on developing basic knowledge and skills that are necessary for a new hire to acquire for a certain position.
It involves an ongoing, systematic, long-range process of driving organizational effectiveness, solving problems, and improving organizational performance. For example, we have prepared a long term plans for upskilling operational employees and providing them an oppprotunity to have a wide range of skills: technical, production and computer graphics. This enabled us to to increase their productivity, while achieving our organizational business goals.
A well written and accessible knowledgebase, customized per specific learner's needs, enables to get answers on their own. In Intel Sports we developed various types of knowledgebase, such as: our in-house LMS with list of open courses and their contents, Confluence - technical user guides space, Sharepoint glossary. For the employees that conduct a technical support in our venues the Confluence and Sharepoint knowledgebases are designed to be open for editing, adding and removing contents accordingly.
